TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Sharow Photographic Competition reserves the right to display, reproduce and publish in any media any entry, without payment, for the sole purpose of the Sharow Photographic Competition and exhibition and its promotion and publicity.
     
  2. No copyright is transferred to the Sharow Photographic Competition in respect of any works entered or accepted. Each entrant shall be deemed to warrant that they own the entire copyright in the work or that they have permission from the licensee and/or copyright owner/s for the uses and all necessary model releases and clearances have been obtained. The entrant undertakes to indemnify Sharow Photographic Competition in respect of any breach of the same.
     
  3. All relevant clearances must have been obtained for the use of the photographs by Sharow Photographic Competition for publication and exhibition.
     
  4. The responsibility for damage or loss to the photographs, however caused, is the responsibility of the photographer. The Sharow Photographic Competition and any venue exhibiting the prints and/or projected digital images from CD-ROMs will not be responsible for any loss or damage, whether or not caused by negligence. Sharow Photographic Competition advises entrants to ensure that their own insurance covers any eventualities.
     
  5. Whilst the Sharow Photographic Competition makes every effort to ensure the publication of images is of the highest standard, we are unable to guarantee the quality of reproduction.
     
  6. Sharow Photographic Competition adopts a 'no cameras allowed' policy during the exhibition. All print entries will have an owner's 'copyright reserved' label affixed to the back of each and every mount card when received and /or whether the entry is exhibited or not.
     
  7. Entrants' digital images entered on a CD-ROM will be 'bound over' in a secure environment until such time as Sharow Photographic Competition have instructions from the owner as to their disposal. Entries that have not been collected after six months may be destroyed without further notice.
     
  8. Photographs which the judges consider to be obscene, inflammatory or in any other way illegal or unsuitable will be excluded from the competition at the judges' absolute discretion. Under such circumstances the organisers may, also at their discretion:
     
    1. advise or decline to advise the reason(s) for the exclusion
    2. return the offending photograph(s) and charge a handling fee
    3. destroy the offending photograph(s) and charge a handling fee
    4. return the entry fee minus a handling fee or
    5. retain the entry fee for the benefit of the supported charities.
