We are the only International Open Photographic Competition for Charity.

Promoters

The Parochial Church Council (trustees) of St John’s Church, Sharow, Ripon, North Yorkshire, HG4 5BJ, United Kingdom.

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is a charity excepted from registration with the UK Charity Commissioners under the Charities Act 1993 by the Charities (Exception from Registration Regulations) 1996.  It is recognised as a Charity by Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC), under reference number XN538270.

St John’s is part of the Anglican Diocese of Ripon and Leeds.   

Purpose

To raise funds to support the work of our church and a selected charity.  Since the competition’s inception in 2006 our selected charities have been:

• 2006 Yorkshire Cancer Research and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance
• 2007 Macmillan Cancer Relief
• 2008 Marie Curie Cancer Care
• 2009, 2010 Martin House Hospice for Children and Young Adults

In 2010 nett proceeds from this competition were £3,436, distributed on the basis of £2,000 (58%) to Martin House and the balance to St John’s Church (42%)
