The Sharow Photographic Competition is a competition for photographers of all levels of ability - excluding full-time professional photographers. We welcome entries from beginners as well as experienced photographers, on digital camera or film. Everyone has an equal opportunity to win in this competition - see testimonials.
The competition is divided into Categories. These change every year and have various eligibility criteria. There are prizes in every category and also an overall Best Picture prize and runner-up. Click here for details of this year's categories.

The Sharow Competition has quickly blossomed into a ‘tour
de force’ and the standard of entries is very high. It has
obviously now staked its place in the nation's photographic competition
calendar and I hope will go from strength to strength, especially given
the fact that you are able to not only provide generous prize money,
but also make substantial donations to charity. 
We are an independent competition and the only UK International Open Photographic Competition working for Charity.

The chosen charity to be supported in 2010 is Martin House Hospice For Children & Young Adults - Registered Charity No. 517919. Sharow Photographic Competition is promoted by the Trustees of St. John's Church Sharow, Ripon, North Yorkshire UK (HMRC Charity No. XN538270). The nett proceeds from the competition are used to support the work of St John's Church and a selected charity.
