We are the only National Open Photographic Competition for Charity

My warmest congratulations on the 2007 Sharow Competition - it has quickly blossomed into a ‘tour de force’ and the standard of entries was incredibly high. It has obviously now staked its place in the nation's photographic competition calendar and I hope will go from strength to strength, especially given the fact that you are able to not only provide generous prize money, but also make substantial donations to charity.

We are delighted to announce that the Third Sharow Open Photographic Competition will be held in April 2008. Entries are invited from the United Kingdom and beyond. Why not enter now?

This is a competition for photographers of all levels of ability - excluding full-time professional photographers.

The chosen national charity to be supported in 2008 is Marie Curie Cancer Care Registered Charity No: 207994. In 2008 they are celebrating their 60th anniversary, so this is a golden opportunity to support them by entering the competition.

The promoters are St. John's Church PCC in Sharow, North Yorkshire on the outskirts of Ripon, the Cathedral City of the Dales.

The Sharow Photographic Competition is open to all comers of any age and all abilities. Any person can compete in just one category or all categories either in print or digital format.

The second competition was very successful and built on the success of the first in September 2006. Thanks to your support the Competition will now be a regular prestigious event in April each year.
