Early in 2006 I received an email from David Page inviting members of the Holmfirth Camera Club to enter the Sharow Photographic Competition. What induced me to enter was the amount of effort being put in by David to hold the competition in the first place, and the fact that the funds raised were going to a worthy cause. It was a fairly simple competition to enter and you could also donate your images to the competition to be sold, thereby raising even more money for charity.

Sharow is a pleasant village on the edge of Ripon City. The competition is held in the church, which is well lit. There was a very mixed and interesting level of images entered so nobody should be afraid of taking part – it was a pleasant surprise for me to win the overall competition.

Please do support David and the 07 competition. I have encouraged more members of my club to take part; this year it could be your turn to win!

Signed: Philip Hack, Overall Winner of the 2006 competition
